Qian holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering, UNSW Australia, and has held prestigious fellowships with the Wellcome Trust at University College London, UK and the Japanese Science & Technology Agency. Her previous roles included Senior Research Fellow and Manager of Biological Sciences at Brien Holden Vision Institute, where she delivered strategic research leadership.

Qian now offers consultancy services to universities and research institutions globally, specialising in: (i) Ecosystems and Cultures: Governance frameworks, policy development, and strategic planning; (ii) Driving Innovation: Strengthening collaborations, supporting clinical trials, guiding IP and licensing strategies; (iii) Developing Research Capacity and Capability: Training workshops, grant support, ethics guidance, and mentorship programs.
