Associate Professor Qian Garrett is a consultant for PCRi.
Qian is an expert in research and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) policy, strategy, and management, with a strong focus on research innovation and knowledge translation. She is a skilled strategist with expertise in establishing research frameworks and enabling systems. Qian is dedicated to building research capacity and mentoring researchers in research and leadership development.
Qian began her career in biomedical research, with a focus on the translation to medical devices and pharmaceutical product development, across China, Japan, Australia, and the UK. She holds a Ph.D. from UNSW Australia and has received prestigious fellowships, including with the Wellcome Trust at the Institute of Ophthalmology, University College London, and the Japanese Science & Technology Agency.
Having transitioned into research management, Qian has served as the Director of the Research Office at The University of Notre Dame Australia for over eight years, overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes research governance, policy development, research integrity and ethics, grants and contracts, researcher development, graduate research (HDR), and performance analytics and reporting.
