WORKSHOP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF KWAZULU NATAL, SOUTH AFRICA
Gregory Blatch PhD FRSSAf SFCSSI
UKZN workshop on RESEARCH IDENTITY: Last week, I was privileged to have the opportunity to facilitate a workshop on “Establishing Your Research Identity” for early career academics of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. Thank-you to all the participants for fully engaging in every session; I witnessed tremendous commitment to deeply exploring the key pillars of a successful research career. The support of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, including the University Dean of Research, all the College Deans of Research and key senior researchers, was pivotal to the success of the workshop. A very special thank-you must go to the acting DVCR&I, Professor Anil Chuturgoon, for his excellent leadership in making this workshop happen; I know that this workshop is just one small component of an institutional strategy to grow the next generation of researchers and scholars at UKZN 👌👍👏👏
